Breadfast was selected as a Y Combinator (YC) Top Company, the first company in the MENA region to be recognized alongside 40 fast-growing, high-impact companies around the world. YC’s recognition highlights Breadfast’s ground-breaking achievement for scaling the Middle East’s first grocery delivery service with a fully owned supply chain.
Established in 2005, YC is an American accelerator that endorses top-notch startups around the world by providing programs that help them streamline their product, grow their brand, and scale their business. YC helped launch major companies including Dropbox, AirBnb, Coinbase, Quora, and Brex.
“Despite low access to capital in the region, Breadfast cracked a business model with sustainable unit economics to scale. The team they’ve built is top notch. Thanks to their world-class product and user experience, Breadfast has quickly become a beloved consumer brand in Egypt,” YC wrote in their Top Private Companies report.
Early-stage, seed, or fully-fledged, companies with the potential to create millions of jobs, drive profit, and have smart manpower are the ones who get on YC’s radar.
Since its launch in 2017, Breadfast is on a mission to become a part of every household in the MENA region, by providing customers with their grocery and household essentials at the comfort of their homes.
Today, Breadfast are proudly serving thousands of customers in Cairo, Alexandria, Tanta, and Mansoura, currently relying on the Breadfast app to provide their daily grocery essentials.
With a growing ambition to revolutionize e-commerce in the MENA region, Breadfast is domestically expanding across Egypt, with plans to further its supply chain and logistics services across the Middle East in 2022.
